Legal Operations Specialist

The Legal Operations Specialist at Herond, a leading software/IT solutions company, plays a crucial role in ensuring the Legal and Compliance Department operates efficiently and effectively. This role is essential for supporting Herond’s mission by ensuring legal processes are streamlined, scalable, and aligned with industry best practices.Role and responsibilities
Optimize workflows for contract management, compliance tracking, and other legal processes to improve productivity and reduce risks.
For more senior candidates: Design and implement department-wide operational frameworks, including KPIs and reporting systems (IC4 focus).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as Finance and IT, to integrate legal operations processes and ensure compliance.
Assist in preparing and managing standard trading, service, and outsourcing contracts using established templates and processes.
For more senior candidates: Lead the preparation and negotiation of complex trading, service, and outsourcing contracts, ensuring alignment with business objectives and legal requirements.
Monitor and update the company's intellectual property register, ensuring timely renewals and compliance with registration requirements.
For more senior candidates: Oversee the management of the company's IP portfolio, including strategy for IP protection and enforcement, and coordinate with external counsel.
Support the development and implementation of legal policies and compliance programs, ensuring they are effectively communicated and adopted across the organization (IC3 focus).
For more senior candidates: Develop and lead initiatives to enhance legal compliance, including creating policies, conducting audits, and reporting on compliance metrics.
Education and experience
Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degree (e.g., Juris Doctor) preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in legal operations; 5+ years for senior-level (IC4) candidates.
Excellent project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
For senior candidates: Experience in designing operational frameworks and managing vendor relationships.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Experience working in a technology or software development company is a plus.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to new technologies and processes.
Experience Level
Mid-level to senior position, depending on experience.
Education
Bachelor’s degree required; Juris Doctor (JD) or Master’s degree in a related field preferred.
